Attention Prospective 2024-25 Pre-Kindergarten Families: The lottery drawing for full-day Pre-K for the 2024-25 school year will take place on May 21 at 10 a.m. Completed registration packets to be included in the lottery drawing are due to the Elementary School Main Office by May 20, 2024 at noon. Only 18 full-day slots are available for the 2024-25 school year. The drawing can be viewed live online or parents/guardians are welcome to attend in person. The District is still accepting half-day AM/PM Pre-K applications, as well. Those applications will be accepted until all slots are filled. Save the dates! The New York State ELA and Math exams are around the corner. Students in grades 3-8 will take the ELA exam on April 30-May 1, 2024 and the Math exam on May 14-15, 2024. Please contact your student's main office with any questions in regard to the state exams. Good luck to all of our students taking the exams!

Since March, the 5th grade class at Cairo-Durham Elementary School has been engaged in an exciting fundraising initiative to gather funds for their second annual trip to Casa Vallarta in Lake Katrine for a festive Cinco De Mayo lunch! Students have been operating a coffee cart called "All That Java", offering a delightful selection of beverages including hot and iced coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and an array of desserts. With responsibilities ranging from taking orders to preparing beverages on the spot, students have been actively involved in every aspect of the operation. The 5th grade team extends heartfelt appreciation to the entire elementary school community for their unwavering support and generosity throughout this fundraiser. We extend our sincerest gratitude to the families of our students for their donations and assistance, as their contributions have made this memorable experience possible.

Congratulations to Cairo-Durham High School student Charles Smith for being recognized as the Wellness Club's "Beast of the Month" for March 2024! Charles has been one of the most dedicated members of the Wellness Club since it began. His positive attitude and joy have been great assets to the club.
