Class of 2027: 8th Grade Transition Night on Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. is quickly approaching! We look forward to seeing students and their parents/guardians as we discuss the course selection process for 2023-2024, reviewing the process of transition from 8th to 9th grade, tips on being successful in High School and overview graduation/testing requirements.


The MS Social Studies Literacy Program is offering several afterschool enrichment options with museums from across the country for up to 15 additional students this spring. Most programs are virtual through Zoom/Google Meet. The first 2023 program is Spy School 101 and will take place on January 17th.
Any student interested must sign up in advance using the form and sign up for the late bus/arrange transportation home. It is important to note that all programs will be capped a specific amount of students.

The Snow Ball dance is coming to CDMS on Feb. 10! Pre-sale tickets will be on sale for $5 during the week of February 6-10 before morning announcements.


The Modified Wrestling team recently participated at the Niskayuna Youth Tournament.
Cooper Hulbert placed 3rd winning two matches by pin.
Austin Sperano placed 2nd winning two hard fought matches.
Vivienne Myers also placed 2nd going 3-1 on the day winning 3 matches by pin.

The programs will prepare students for in-demand jobs in STEM careers, offering pathways in Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Environmental Science and Health Sciences. Tech Valley High School is now accepting applications from active 8th grade students only. As part of Tech Valley High School's application, you are required to attend a virtual or in person information session before filling out the application prior to March 3, 2023 and be on track to meet all requirements for successful completion of their 8th grade school year. Students and their mentors in the 7th grade mentoring program at Cairo-Durham Middle School made ornaments, enjoyed snacks and made a holiday gift to take home last week! Students also made chocolate-dipped spoons to go with hot chocolate in a holiday mug.

Ms. Rogers' 6th grade class made "Santa Cupcakes" last week to ring in the holidays!





Ms. Burton's 8th grade Science classes had a blast in their Christmas labs last week! Students were able to make "Reindeer Toothpaste", snowmen, holiday kaleidoscopes and more by initiating the chemical and physical reactions of specific ingredients.
