CDMS held its first group Mentoring Event of the school year on Nov. 17!
Students and Mentors meet individually every week and the whole group meets monthly during the school year to play games, get to know each other and enjoy snacks together.





CDES is hosting its first-ever Turkey Trot for students and staff on Tuesday, Nov. 22! Parents/Guardians, please be sure to send your student(s) into school with sneakers and athletic clothing!


Cairo-Durham Elementary School is hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive until Monday, Nov. 21. Non-perishable items can be dropped off in the main lobby of CDES.
All donations will be shared with families in need. Parents/Guardians can also send in items with their student(s) to school.


The Cairo-Durham High School Student Council will be hosting a holiday concert and turkey dinner for Cairo-Durham senior citizens, both free of charge, on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at the high school.
The concert will start at 1 p.m. and the dinner will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Fifth grade is full of fun! Take a look at the highly interactive mock crime scene investigations that took place in Ms. Prinz's, Wagor's and Williams' classes, including some special appearances from Principal Stein, Assistant Principal Pollard and assistance from SRO Deputy Espel!





Congratulations to the Sophomore Class for winning the NHS food drive that concluded on Nov. 18. The high school collected, counted and delivered the donations to the food pantry after school following the end of the challenge.
Special shoutout to Haleon in Durham for their donation of 200 tubes of Sensodyne toothpaste!

Check out the creative work in Ms. Kuhn's 4th Grade class as students elaborately built "longhouses" out of construction paper and their desks. The landscape included rivers, mountains and land in between, as well as families and a fire for warmth inside. Great job, students!

Sarah Hasbrook, Cairo-Durham Elementary School's Resource Room teacher, collaborated with Miss Wagor's class to teach an OG(Orton-Gillingham) lesson.
Two of Miss Wagor's students, Jaxon and Anthony, see Mrs. Hasbrook daily to work on phonics skills. This time, these two students became the co-teachers and had the opportunity to teach their class what they have learned so far this year! Way to go, Jaxon and Anthony!

The 7th grade students in Ms. Meyers' classes spent yesterday (Nov. 10) talking about the importance and history of Veterans Day.
As a way to honor Veterans, the scholars made a "thank you" sign and placed 100 American flags to honor 100 Veterans in front of the Cairo Durham Middle and High School. Great job, students!
