Cairo-Durham CSD is excited to announce that a Stewart's Holiday Match Grant, in the amount of $1,250, was recently awarded to the District!
The Stewart's Holiday Match Grant is a donation-matching program that Stewart's Shops has run since 1986. During the holiday season, generous donations from customers at Stewart's locations across the state are collected and matched by Stewart's. The funds are then allocated to various causes in the form of the Stewart's Holiday Match Grant.
The grant was written to purchase decodable books for students at Cairo-Durham Elementary. A large check was presented to the District by Ken Graham, manager of the Stewart's in Cairo.
Special thanks go to Sarah Hasbrook, a special education teacher, who applied for this grant! Thank you to Stewart's for your support.

Last week's Grade 2 Thompson / Lopez Star of the Week was Kelsey! The Grade 3 Whitbeck / Lopez Star of the Week was Romyn!
Kelsey participated in all activities, completed her work, waited her turn patiently, and was kind to everyone all week! Kelsey worked extremely hard in math and writing! She is doing a great job adding and subtracting with regrouping, subtracting on a numberline, answering word problems, and counting coins! Kelsey always checks her work for accuracy. Way to go, Kelsey!
Romyn demonstrated respect, responsibility and kindness all week. Romyn also participated in all activities, completed his work, waited his turn patiently, and made safe choices. Romyn has worked extremely hard memorizing his multiplication facts and restating, answering and citing when answering text based questions too!
Congratulations, Kelsey and Romyn! Your teachers are so proud of you!!!!
