Congratulations to Cairo-Durham High School Senior Zachary Russell, who signed his National Letter of Intent to continue is academic and athletic career playing baseball at Alfred University today! Zachary, the only member of the Cairo-Durham High School Class of 2024 to declare intentions to play collegiate sports, was joined by family, friends, faculty, staff, teammates and coaches! Way to go, Zachary!

Zachary Russell Signs NLI To Play College Baseball at Alfred University

Attached is the Regents/Final Exams Calendar for the end of the year. There will be a mid-day bus run at 11:45 AM to bring students home after morning exams, there will NOT be a mid-day run to bring students into the building for afternoon exams. Students who need to ride the bus to school should come in on their normal morning bus run. There will be a 3:30 PM bus run to bring students home following the afternoon exams. Pete Lopez, former Region 2 EPA Administrator and current Executive Director of Policy, Advocacy and Science for Scenic Hudson recently visited Mrs. Thompson's and Mrs. Lopez's class at Cairo-Durham Elementary School! The students viewed photographs and discussed a variety of key environmental issues. The discussions focused on how we can all work together to create and maintain clean, healthy neighborhoods and farms, along with the importance of protecting forests. Students also learned about alternative energy and pollution. All of the students participated enthusiastically and learned how to be stewards of the environment! Thank you, Mr. Lopez!

This is a friendly reminder of an update to the end-of-year schedule for Cairo-Durham Elementary School. - Monday, June 24, 2024: 12 p.m. (Noon) Dismissal. - Tuesday, June 25, 2024: 12 p.m. (Noon) Dismissal. Last day of school for students! - Wednesday, June 26, 2024: No school for students! Due to the schedule change, bus routes may take longer than usual June 24-25, 2024 with Cairo-Durham Middle/High School students taking the bus for their Regents/Final Exams. The 5th grade Safety Patrol at Cairo-Durham Elementary School recently participated in a bowling event with the Greene County Sheriff's Office to celebrate the students' dedication to keeping their school safe! These students have done a great job throughout the school year being great role model for the younger students. Way to go, Mustangs!
