Cairo Durham alumni and current owner of "The Juice Branch" in Cairo, Anthony D’Errico, recently stopped by Cairo-Durham Elementary School to showing Mrs. Sniffen's class how to make healthy juices from his store for “J Day”! The students were able to help peel ingredients, make the juice and even name their juice they created!

On June 10, 2024, Mrs. Lopez's and Mrs. Whitbeck’s class at Cairo-Durham Elementary School celebrated "Donut Day"! Students learned strategies for marketing and pitching new food ideas. They then worked with partners to develop a new donut flavor for Dunkin' Donuts. Each group was tasked with creating a unique donut, describing it in detail, naming it, drawing it, and pitching why their donut was so special and would be a top seller.
After presenting their creations to the class, students walked to Dunkin' Donuts in Cairo and pitched their ideas to the management team. The management team then provided donuts for the students to enjoy.
All of the students' unique creations/posters are on display at Dunkin' Donuts on Main Street in Cairo! Some extraordinary ideas, go see for yourself!
A very special thank you to the Dunkin' Donuts Management Team, Liz D., John H., and Danny P. for their collaboration on this educational and fun project, and for providing the students with so many delicious donuts!
Thank you to Cairo-Durham Elementary School Principal Christopher Stein for approving this trip and to all of our amazing chaperones!

Congratulations to Amiliana DuHart for being chosen as Cairo Durham High School's May 2024 Student of the Month!
Amiliana, pictured here with Ms. Susan O'Brien is a dedicated sophomore known as a wonderful, helpful and positive student that enjoys learning and working together with others . Amiliana is always willing to help other students and teachers. Amiliana works hard to achieve high grades and helps other students with their school work. Amiliana educators describe her as a very hard working student and works very hard to be the best she can be.
In addition to her academic achievements, Amiliana is an active participant in the Sources of Strength club. Outside of school, Amiliana loves animals. Her love for animals encourages her to enjoy reading and learning more about animals. An interesting fact about Amiliana is that she loves hedgehogs. Her friends say that Amiliana is one of the kindest people in this school. She is always thinking of others. She "watches out" for her friends, making sure they have materials they need to learn.
Amiliana has a passion for cooking and plans to pursue a career in the Culinary Arts. Amiliana is very excited and looking forward to the Culinary Arts program at Questar III BOCES in the Fall of 2024.

Congratulations to Milleth C. for winning the bubblegum bubble contest in the Whitbeck/Lopez class at Cairo-Durham Elementary School!

Ms. Edwards' Algebra 1A and Mrs. Jones' College Math Prep classes at Cairo-Durham High School recently teamed up for a review session for the Algebra 1A class's final exam! Mrs. Jones' students have the foundation of the Algebra 1A class and then expand on that material throughout the year to strengthen their skills and prepare them for an entry-level college math class. The students worked together in groups, as the College Math Prep students helped the Algebra 1A students complete review worksheets and retaught them any content they struggled with. The Algebra 1A class was very responsive and appreciative of the College Math Prep class's help. Way to go, Mustangs, and best of luck on your exams!
