In volleyball action on Tuesday the Girls Modified Volleyball Team defeated Hudson 2-0. It was a great game for the Mustangs. At Windham yesterday Vivien Myers came in 1st place and Payton Neubauer came in 2nd place for our Girls Modified Cross Country Team.

The Cairo-Durham National Honor Society is hosting the annual Fall Festival and Community Yard Sale on September 30th from 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Cairo-Durham Elementary School! Setup will be at 8:30 a.m. Parking spots and 10x10 lawn spots are available. The price is $15 for pre-registration and $20 for at the door. The rain date for this outdoor event is scheduled for October 1st. Approved at last Thursday's Board of Education meeting, October 13th, 2023 will be a District-wide Early Release Day for all students. Students at the secondary campus will be released at 11:45 am and students at the elementary campus will be released at 12:45 pm. Middle School Extended Learning starts tomorrow! If you find your child may be struggling with their academics, just may need a little extra help, or if you have any questions related to this program, please reach out to your child's teacher. The program runs every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday after school. Transportation is available at 3:30.

Mrs. Trotti's 7th Grade Social Studies STAR class worked together to complete a puzzle of the 50 States after learning about the geography of the United States. Once the puzzle was completed, students developed observations of the map and their prior knowledge about the geography, climate and their economies.

The Girls Modified Soccer Team defeated Taconic Hills yesterday by a score of 13-0. Maya DeRose and Rebecca Mahler both recorded hat tricks (3) and Abigail Wright (2), Baylee Kastner (2), Brianna Dennis (2), and Michaela Wright (1) all scored goals for the Mustangs.

Mrs.Trotti's 7th Grade Social Studies classes put their knowledge to the test creating "Battleship" game boards, practicing their mapping skills. Students were tasked with creating unique and strategic grids and had to call out coordinates while using their common language of latitude and longitude.

If you are a Modified Football Player that needs a ride to the game in Catskill today please reach out to the Transportation Department by 1:00 PM to let them know. The bus will be leaving at 3:30 only if players need a ride to the game.
