Every year, the Cairo-Durham High School National Art Honor Society paints a Bear for the the Cairo Bears Community Project. CDHS Junior Dezaray Riley, painted our Cairo Bear, titled "Bearfoot in the City".
Her bear features impressionistic scenes of Albany, Hudson and New York City. Dezaray used a unique lens to represent the landscapes. She focused on using intense color and textured brushwork. Cairo Bears will one again grace the streets of Cairo, Round Top, Purling, Acra, South Cairo, and South Durham. The Cairo, NY Bears Community Art Project is a fundraiser that will benefit the Cairo Development Foundation’s Main Street Revitalization projects.
The Bears will be on display from Memorial Day weekend in May through Labor Day in September. Our bear will be displayed at the entrance to the High School Building.
Great job, Dezaray!
