Last week's Grade 2 Thompson / Lopez Star of the Week was Minna! The Grade 3 Whitbeck / Lopez Star of the Week was Cheyenne! Minna participated in all activities, completed her work, waited her turn patiently, and was kind to everyone all week! Minna worked extremely hard in math and writing! She is doing a great job adding and subtracting with regrouping, subtracting on a numberline, answering word problems, and counting coins! Way to go, Minna! Cheyenne demonstrated respect, responsibility and kindness all week. Cheyenne also participated in all activities, completed her work, waited her turn patiently, and made safe choices. Cheyenne has worked extremely hard memorizing her multiplication facts and restating, answering and citing when answering text based questions too! She has also been participating in class! On Wednesday, April 2nd, Cairo-Durham Elementary School hosted a vibrant and engaging Multicultural Night, where families came together to showcase and celebrate cultures from around the world! The event featured interactive displays representing Italy, Ireland, India, Mexico, Germany, Israel, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic, with families sharing traditional food, clothing, music, and dance from their heritage. A big thank you to all the families who participated and helped make this event such a success!

Ms. Flubacher's 5th grade students and Mr. Goodwin (Math Coach) participated in a Building Thinking Classroom activity where students worked collaboratively and were encouraged to think critically and problem solve. The students demonstrated perseverance, determination, and focus while completing the math tasks.

Quiz Night 2025 at CDHS was a tremendous success! Students, faculty, staff, admin, and board members competed in groups to answer questions about fun trivia. The teams came up with unique team names, including Skibidi Slicers and Tubatomic! It is great to see students smiling while learning until 8 PM. Get your team ready for next year's Quiz Night!
