Penny Wars have arrived at Cairo-Durham Elementary School for the week of March 18-22, 2024!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Each classroom has their own coin collecting jug for collecting points. Each grade level will have a “sabotage” jug located in the main office.
- ADD POINTS to your classroom jug by adding pennies and dollar bills.
- SUBTRACT POINTS from other grade levels by adding silver coins to their “sabotage” jug
THE GRADE LEVEL WITH THE MOST POINTS WINS A FANCY LUNCH!

In Miss Wagor's & Mrs. Legg's class at Cairo-Durham Elementary School, students engaged with the concept of volume through a hands-on activity using unit cube blocks.
The class was challenged to construct as many rectangular prisms as possible, carefully recording each prism's dimensions. Through this activity, students were able to gain a deeper understanding of volume measurement and its real world applications!

Students in Mrs. Whitbeck’s and Mrs. Lopez’s class at Cairo-Durham Elementary School have been working hard to master their multiplication facts and just completed a multiplication challenge that began in December!
Four students have completely mastered their facts!

What an amazing turnout last night, March 14, 2024, for the annual "March Madness" Cairo-Durham Elementary School faculty and staff vs. Cairo-Durham Middle/High School faculty and staff basketball game to benefit all four grade levels at CDHS! Mark your calendars! Pre-K and Kindergarten Orientation for the 2024-25 school year at Cairo-Durham Elementary School will take place on the following dates:
- Kindergarten: March 19, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. (Student must be turning 5-years old on or before Dec. 1, 2024.)
- Pre-K: March 26, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. (Student must be turning 4-years-old on or before Dec. 1, 2024.)
