Leukemia impacts every area of a patient's life and the lives of their families. Having leukemia means painful treatments and missed school for the patient and emotional challenges for the patient and their family. While a family is dealing with all these issues, they are also dealing with financial costs. The average cost to stay one night at the Children's Hospital is approximately $1000. In order to help support these families, Cairo-Durham CSD collected loose change to support Pennies for Patients.
