NOTICE: The ACT exam at Cair0-Durham High School scheduled for February 11th has been cancelled due to low registration numbers.
Registered students will be reassigned to another center.
The Boys JV Basketball Team defeated Galway 40-39 in a closely contested game last night and the Boys Varsity Basketball Team lost their game against Galway by a score of 56-40.
Congratulations to CDHS students Noelle Amoroso and Trinh Quang for having their artworks selected for display at the 2023 CGCC Foundation Gallery Juried Art Exhibit! Both students are seniors in Ms. Little's AP Studio Art course.



Mrs. Fitzgerald's 5th grade class learned about Lunar New Year. Students learned about Chinese Culture, what animals are in China and all about Lunar New Year. Students are pictured holding some books they used for their information. After, the class made traditional red decorations for the CDES library.

Questar III & HVCC STEM High School will be hosting a virtual information night for 8th grade students, parents and families only on Jan. 25, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
There is also an in-person open house scheduled for Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Robert Hallock of the Greene County Historical Society visited the seventh graders on Jan. 20 in his 18th century costume. Mr. Hallock told the story of the American Revolution from the perspective of General Nathaniel Greene for whom Greene County is named. He brought some props to share, including a block of tea similar to what was thrown overboard at the Boston Tea Party and hard tack.

UPDATE: The Cairo-Durham Central School District is closed on Monday, Jan. 23, 2023 due to continued inclement weather. There will be no afterschool activities and no PM BOCES programs.

Great job by all of our CDES Student Council members who delivered an excellent presentation at the Jan. 12 Board of Education meeting!
Final projects for CDHS students in the Edible History elective class with Ms. Giarrusso consisted of designing food truck businesses that would be most likely to flourish in the Cairo-Durham community. The students prepared a signature dish for judges and researched the history of key ingredients. Students were also faced with a number of challenges throughout the cooking competition.

After this week's matches, the Varsity Bowling Team is now 7-5 in the Patroon Conference. Adam Henry had his season high game of 227 and Richard Crianza bowled his season high game of 181. The team can't wait to go to Sectionals this year.
UPDATE: In addition to evening activities being canceled, the Wellness Center will also be closed today, Jan. 19, 2023 due to the impending weather.
Due to the impending weather, the Cairo-Durham Central School District will have an Early Dismissal on Thursday, January 19, 2023. The Middle School and High School will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. and the Elementary School will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. As a result, there will be no afterschool or evening activities.
