The Class of 2023 is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser hosted by the Blackthorne Resort on Sunday, April 23rd from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $10 per person and there will be a dine-in and takeout option. Prom tickets are on sale now until May 26th! This year's Junior and Senior Prom, "Casino Night" will take place on June 3rd from 6-10 p.m. at Saugerties Steamboat Co. Tickets can be purchased from a Junior Class Officer or from Ms. Wickham in the Main Office.
Additionally, CDHS is hosting an event on April 5th in the CDHS Cafeteria for students to receive free prom dresses. We are asking for prom dress donations, as well.

Starting April 19th, Twin County Recovery Services Inc. will be offering a six-week parenting class for active parents. The class will have a hybrid option of meeting virtual and/or in-person. The Cairo Durham Middle School Student Council is hosting a Glow Dance on Friday, March 31st from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wear Neon, glow sticks or anything that shows up under the black lights! Concessions will be available for purchase. Pre-sale tickets will be available for $5 March 27th-March 30th before announcements and $8 at the door.
Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, The CDES 4th/5th Grade Band and Chorus Concert has been moved from Tuesday, May 23 to Monday, May 22 at 6 p.m. in the CDHS Auditorium. Thank you for your understanding!

Cairo-Durham is proud to announce that Marc Cammarata is the February 2023 Student of the Month! Marc is an 11th grader taking AP and College Level classes, while maintaining a 94 GPA. Marc is very active in the music program at Cairo-Durham, participating in the band, chorus, and bell choir. Additionally, he was in this year’s production of West Side Story, playing one of the lead roles. Marc believes his “hard work and putting his best foot forward” has led to his success. He is a class officer and a member of the National Honor Society. Outside of the classroom, Marc is also part of the golf team, student council, marching band, and NYSSMA competitions.
When not in school, Marc likes reading, spending time with his family and friends, and watching movies. Marc describes himself as, “incredibly hardworking and dedicated to everything I work on. I’m always willing to help others with anything they need.” Additionally, his teachers describe him as a, “great role model of a student. He engages in class and puts forth a great effort. In addition to being a leader in the classroom, Marc is very involved in extracurricular activities and volunteering his time to help others. He is very much deserving of this recognition.” After high school Marc is undecided about where he would like to go to college, but definitely plans on attending. Here, Marc is pictured with his College English teacher and fellow West Side Story actor, Mr. Thomas Corbett.

Over the past couple of weeks, CDES was tasked with making cards for a local nursing home, The Pines in Catskill.
Ms.Rice/Mrs.Lopez's class has made 137 handmade, handwritten breakfast, lunch and dinner cards for residents! Way to go, students!
LAST CALL! Kindergarten Orientation for the 2023-24 school year will take place TONIGHT from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Cairo-Durham Elementary School located at 424 Main Street in Cairo, NY. At the orientation, staff will give an overview of the kindergarten program, the screening and registration process, immunization requirements and transportation guidelines. You will also set up your appointment to have your child screened (required). Please call Joanne Cleary with any questions at 518-622-3231. Orientation is planned for parents/guardians only. Your child will have an opportunity in August to meet their teacher, ride a bus and see the school.
