The Cairo-Durham Middle School Student Council is hosting a sweatshirt fundraiser! Please use the attached order form to place an order by Nov. 9, 2023!

Students in Ms. Hasbrook's Reading Class met their reading challenge of reading over 150 books by Halloween! The class celebrated their success with a "Glow Read" party where everything they worked with was glow-in-the-dark.
Students used flashlights to "write" sounds on the ceiling, used glow-in-the-dark putty to write words, and used blacklight flashlights to spell out words, as well as unscramble sentences. Now, on to the next reading challenge!

The Cairo-Durham Middle School Mentoring Program had its monthly meeting for October where the group created scarecrows and had Halloween treats!







Mrs. Stalter worked with some of her students in a group on incorporating SEL and emotions with our P2 trait, creativity!



Cairo-Durham Elementary School Student Council officer elections took place on Tuesday, October 24. Students in 4th and 5th grade watched each individual nomination video from candidates and voted for the positions of Historian, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President!
Congratulations to Julianne, Leila, Alex, Desmond and Zippie for being elected!







CDHS students in Mrs. Manolli's college-level Physics class recently participated in a "Break-Out Box Challenge"!




Abigail Brandow, a senior student at Cairo-Durham High School and the Questar III BOCES New Visions program, has spent a great portion of her 2023-24 school year student teaching at Cairo-Durham Elementary School in Mrs. Russell's class!
The New Visions "Pathways in Education" program is designed to support aspiring young teachers who are passionate about teaching and working in elementary schools. As part of her coursework, Ms. Brandow travels daily to attend classes at the University of Albany and spends time on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the classroom!









Have you met Indi, the Sphero Robot Dog? Mrs. MacGiffert's Pre-K classes received a special visit from Questar III BOCES Model Learning professional Stephanie Carbone who introduced the students to the early stages of coding and computer programming!
