Last week we held our P2 assembly with some “minute to win it” team building games. We focused on the traits of Integrity, Creativity and learned about the pillar “Knowing my words and actions affect others”.
Students received positive referrals and then each grade had students chosen by their teachers to participate in the team events. The first event was the “Fall into Place” dash. Each team had 4 students who had to drop a cup onto the one under it. Whichever team stacked the most cups in one minute won. 8th grade won this event!
The second event was the “Sweet Potato Roll” where students in teams of two had to roll their potato from one end of the gym to the other, and back again. We had two rounds and 7th grade took the win!
It was so loud in the gym from everyone cheering each other on.

The 7th grade students in Ms. Meyers' classes spent yesterday (Nov. 10) talking about the importance and history of Veterans Day.
As a way to honor Veterans, the scholars made a "thank you" sign and placed 100 American flags to honor 100 Veterans in front of the Cairo Durham Middle and High School. Great job, students!

Wishing all of the brave and courageous individuals who have served our country a Happy Veterans Day!

Reminder: No school tomorrow, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day!
