Here are the theme days: - Monday, October 23: "Sweat out Bullying" (Wear sweatpants/sweatshirts) - Tuesday, October 24: "Team Up & Be a Hero Against Bullying" (Wear your favorite team or superhero gear) - Wednesday, October 25: "Hide from Drugs" (Wear camo) - Thursday, October 26: "Sock it to Bullying & Drugs/Cairo-Durham Unity Day" (Wear wacky socks and orange clothes) - Friday, October 27: "Spirit Day" (Wear your Positivity Project/Cairo-Durham gear)

October 12, 2023 Dear Cairo-Durham Central School District Families, Faculty and Staff, I hope this message finds you all well with the colder weather and changing of the leaves upon us! I am writing to you today to provide a friendly reminder that Friday, October 13 will be an Early Release Day districtwide for students. Cairo-Durham Middle and High School will release at 11:45 a.m. Due to the schedule change, there will be no lunch period and no after school activities. Please make sure your student(s) have breakfast. Breakfast will be offered in the cafeteria, per usual. Cairo-Durham Elementary school will release at 12:45 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be served, per usual, however there will be no P.M. Pre-K. Thank you very much and have a great weekend! To better understand surface tension, Mrs. Loughran's CDMS writing class was tasked with completing a Claim, Evidence Reasoning (C.E.R.) activity! Mrs. Loughran combined science and writing to allow the students a tangible experience on which to base their writing. The activity involved placing droplets of water on the face of a penny. Before beginning, the children were asked to make a claim as to how many droplets they thought the penny would hold. From there, the evidence and reasoning followed. Great job, students!

The Girls Modified Volleyball Team lost to Coxsackie-Athens yesterday by a score of 2-1. Their next game is on Wednesday versus Hudson.

The Cairo-Durham Middle School Halloween Dance and Costume Contest will take place on October 27 from 6-8:30 p.m. Admission is $10, snacks will be available for purchase, no weapons or masks will be allowed and the event is for Cairo-Durham Middle School students only!
