Aishwarya Thakur, a member of the class of 2025 at Cairo-Durham High School, has been recognized as the Student of the Month for June. Described by her teacher, Ms. McCabe, as “hardworking, creative, and caring, Aishwarya's vibrant personality radiates positivity wherever she goes. Her constant smile, infectious laughter, and boundless energy make her an invaluable addition to any environment she enters.”
Aishwarya's dedication to academic excellence is evident through her membership in the National Honor Society. She considers herself a quick learner, possessing the ability to grasp knowledge swiftly. Aishwarya attributes her selection as the Student of the Month to her diligent work ethic and commitment to staying on top of her assignments. Despite taking a challenging course load of AP and Honors classes, she consistently achieves outstanding grades, with all her scores in the 90s.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Aishwarya enjoys creative activities such as drawing and painting, as well as spending time with her family and friends. Looking toward the future, Aishwarya aspires to attend a prestigious Ivy League university and major in bioscience, driven by her ultimate goal of becoming a doctor. An interesting fact about Aishwarya is that she is fluent in both English and Hindi. Cairo-Durham is proud to honor students like Aishwarya, who set a good example for all of our students!

Graduation will take place on Friday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Cairo-Durham High School in the Auditorium due to impending weather.
We look forward to seeing you and celebrating our graduates!

The Cairo-Durham MS/HS staff recognized its Administrative Assistants this year with a celebration and cupcakes! Each individual got a card, cash and a flowering plant. We can't thank them enough for all that they do for us. As stated by Justin Karker, "we would fall apart without them. They are the glue that hold us together!"

Antonio Brooks is Cairo-Durham High School’s May Student of the Month. Antonio is graduating this month as the school’s Salutatorian, with a weighted GPA of 100.5. He is taking a difficult course load with many AP classes, such as: College Physics, AP European History, AP Government and AP Calculus. Antonio attributes much of his success to, “a genuine curiosity for knowledge. I am extremely hard working and set high standards for myself.”
Outside of the classroom, Antonio plays soccer and volleyball, is part of National Honor Society, participates in the spring musical and has participated in NYSSMA, All County and Area All State. Ms. Clarmont, his vocal teacher, describes Antonio as, “flying under the radar but has a heart of gold, and is a good student to boot.” His peers would say that he is “a nice guy to those around him and stands by his convictions.”
When not in school, Antonio enjoys spending time outside, hiking, and martial arts. He also loves studying philosophy. After high school Antonio is going to attend Cornell University and study bioengineering. Cairo-Durham is very proud of students like Antonio and wishes him the best as he moves onto college in the fall!
