Aiden Penney, a member of the class of 2027 at Cairo-Durham High School, has been recognized as the Student of the Month for January 2024. Aiden describes his efforts in school as one who is a hard worker.
Aiden’s dedication to academics and his continued effort in learning is evident through his membership in the Student Council. Aiden is also one who works hard in all of his classes.
Outside of school, Aiden is involved in training and playing with his dogs. He also considers himself funny, smart, intelligent and loving.
Beyond his academic pursuits and looking toward the future, Aiden aspires to be a lawyer or a judge. One interesting fact about Aiden is that he loves animals. Cairo-Durham High School is proud to honor students like Aiden, who set a good example for all of our students!

Mrs. Manoli's Cairo-Durham High School classes participated in a "Spaghetti Tower" challenge on March 29, 2024, with the goal of creating the tallest, free-standing tower made of dry spaghetti noodles! Congratulations to Alex G. for being named the winner!

Tashana James, a member of the class of 2024 at Cairo-Durham High School, has been recognized as the Student of the Month for December 2023. Tashana describes her efforts in school as one who tries her best and gives the most honest work back to her teachers based on the assignments given.
Tashana’s dedication to academic and athletic excellence is evident through her membership in the National Honor Society and Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field. She considers herself as someone who is quiet and kind. Tashana is one who consistently achieves outstanding grades in all her classes. Mrs. Jones enjoys having Tashana in her PreCalculus class and says that "her smile makes everyone's day and she is a true pleasure to teach."
Outside of school, Tashana hangs out with family, friends and enjoys going out to eat.
Beyond her academic pursuits and looking toward the future, Tashana aspires to go to college to study Kinesiology and pursue a career in the health science field. One interesting fact about Tashana is that she loves fishing and going to the ocean. Tashana would like to go to college somewhere in New York or Connecticut. Cairo-Durham High School is proud to honor students like Tashana, who set a good example for all of our students!

On Friday, March 15, Cairo-Durham Central School District faculty and staff participated in numerous interactive development trainings on Superintendent's Conference Day and conducted team building exercises focused on reducing stress like yoga and dancing! The Boys Varsity Tennis Team opened up their season yesterday afternoon with a resounding win over Greenville 7-0. The next game for the Mustangs is a home match on Thursday versus Taconic Hills.

Mrs. Maassmann's Cairo-Durham High School Hospitality and Tourism class visited the Glen Falls House in Round Top, a restaurant and wedding venue, for a tour of the newly renovated facility and lunch from owner Jon Picco! Students had the opportunity to learn about the location and view the lush waterfalls and immaculate grounds surrounding the area. During lunch, the class enjoyed having a conversation with Mr. Picco about the ever-changing culture of hospitality.
A huge thank you to Mr. Picco for taking the time out of his day to educate our students!

Several Cairo-Durham High School students and staff members were among the over 250 attendees of a rally for "2024 Mental Health Matters Day" in Albany last week!







Cairo-Durham High School precalculus students were proving Trigonometry Identities in class with Mrs. Jones on March 22. As part of their practice, the students put their proofs on the windows and whiteboard!

Angelina Pitcher, a member of the class of 2027 at Cairo-Durham High School, has been recognized as the Student of the Month for November 2023. Angelina describes herself as someone who enjoys helping kids, who tries her best and is always willing to help other students.
Angelina’s dedication to academics and her continued effort in learning is evident through her membership in the National Junior Honor Society. Angelina shows her school spirit by playing volleyball for the Cairo Durham Girls Volleyball team.
Outside of school, Angelina enjoys hanging out with her friends and animals. She is also proud of how she has matured and improved with school this year.
Beyond her academic pursuits and looking toward the future, Angelina plans to go to college to be a vet tech. One interesting fact about Angelina is that she loves pigs. Cairo-Durham High School is proud to honor students like Angelina, who set a good example for all of our students!
