
It's Winter Concert season at Cairo-Durham CSD! Check out the schedule of upcoming performances all to be held at CDHS.


Good morning, Cairo-Durham Families, Faculty and Staff!
The Cairo-Durham Central School District would like to send out a friendly reminder of the opening of our Wellness Center on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023 to district adults, faculty and staff.
In order to secure a membership and access the Wellness Center, interested individuals must complete a Wellness Center Participant Information Form, a Physician's Medical Clearance Form and an Informed Consent and Assumption of Risk Agreement Form. Once completed, these forms can be delivered to Secretary to the Superintendent Nyrelle Colon in the District Office.
The required forms, frequently asked questions and guidelines can all be found on the district website at this link: https://www.cairodurham.org/page/wellness-center.

The Cairo-Durham Elementary PTA's Holiday Shoppe is taking place until Dec. 16! All items are $2 and the sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday.
Please send students into school with their money in an envelope.


We can't get enough of the "Elephant Toothpaste" in 5th grade! This interactive STEM experiment combined scientific and technical texts along with cause and effect practice. Take a look inside the classrooms of Ms. Wagor and Ms. Prinz!

5th graders in Ms. Flubacher's class conducted a science experiment called Elephant Toothpaste after learning about scientific texts and cause and effect relationships.
The students observed the chemical changes that created the foaming and eruption from the bottle.



Mr. Stein got to eat pie with Konnor, Jeffrey, Jada, and Abigail who earned pie with the principal with their Mustang money. Way to go guys! You made me a #proudprincipal #positivityinaction


Shoutout to Sierra G. of Ms. Eskesen's Kindergarten class who recently used her Mustang Money to read a book to her sister's Pre-K class taught by Mrs. MacGiffert! Great job, Sierra!

In Mrs. Rath's 4th grade science class, students have been exploring the ever-changing Earth by creating models of the Earth's layers, identifying the tectonic plates and the "Ring of Fire".
Additionally, the scholars examined many different types of rocks, and experimented to determine how metamorphic rock is created.





Last week students at CDE were awarded positive referrals for the traits of bravery and gratitude. Congratulations to our courageous and grateful students! You are a great example of #positivityinaction





CDES is hosting its first-ever Turkey Trot for students and staff on Tuesday, Nov. 22! Parents/Guardians, please be sure to send your student(s) into school with sneakers and athletic clothing!


Fifth grade is full of fun! Take a look at the highly interactive mock crime scene investigations that took place in Ms. Prinz's, Wagor's and Williams' classes, including some special appearances from Principal Stein, Assistant Principal Pollard and assistance from SRO Deputy Espel!
