Admin, teachers and counseling staff from Cairo-Durham Elementary School and Cairo-Durham Middle School attended a Positivity Project (P2) Summit on Monday, Nov. 6 with Positivity Project CEO and Co-Founder Jeff Bryan. Schools from New York to North Carolina attended the summit to learn about all things new with the Positivity Project. Staff from multiple schools networked on different aspects of the program, from working with staff, to implementing in the school building, to student voice and even to P2 for sports. Our very own Mr. Stein and Mrs. Harvey presented on implementing P2 in the elementary school setting while Mrs. Eldred and Mrs. Murphy presented on implementation in the Middle School!

Students in Ms. Hasbrook's Reading Class met their reading challenge of reading over 150 books by Halloween! The class celebrated their success with a "Glow Read" party where everything they worked with was glow-in-the-dark. Students used flashlights to "write" sounds on the ceiling, used glow-in-the-dark putty to write words, and used blacklight flashlights to spell out words, as well as unscramble sentences. Now, on to the next reading challenge!
