2026-27 Budget Vote and School Board Election Results

The Cairo-Durham Central School District is excited to announce the results of the 2026-27 Budget vote and Board of Education election that took place from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Cairo-Durham High School Distance Learning room on May 19.

The proposed 2026-27 Cairo-Durham Central School District Budget in the amount of $38,313,861 has been approved by the following vote:
217- YES
141- NO

The proposition to purchase school buses at a total price not to exceed $470,000 was approved by the following vote:
225- YES
133- NO

The proposition to implement a school bus reserve was approved by the following vote:
224- YES
130- NO

The proposition to increase the annual appropriation of maintaining the Cairo Public Library by $790 to the total amount $23,333 was approved by the following vote:
244- YES
110- NO

The top three vote-getting Cairo-Durham Central School District Board of Education candidates were elected to three-year terms (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2029):
