On Tuesday, December 9, voters in the Cairo-Durham Central School District approved a Capital Project referendum 105 (yes) to 61 (no).

The referendum will invest $19.08 million into critical building needs. To learn about the full scope of the project, click here.

“Thank you to the community members who came out to vote for this capital project. By addressing critical infrastructure needs now, we are ensuring that our buildings remain sound and secure spaces for all who learn and work within them,” Superintendent Michael Wetherbee said.

In the coming months, architects will prepare plans for the project which will be submitted to the State Education Department for approval.
