Cairo-Durham News

Dear Staff and Families,

I am writing to let you know that the newest member of our leadership team, Mr. Evan Klauber, began his role as Assistant Principal at Cairo-Durham Middle/High School on July 1, 2022. He is replacing Mrs. Bridget Lopez, who was serving as the interim assistant principal since 2021 and is now returning to her special education teaching position at Cairo-Durham Elementary School. Mr. Klauber is working closely with Principal Moore and Principal Czech to ensure a seamless transition.

Mr. Klauber previously taught secondary English and Journalism for more than 15 years, and served as a middle school English Department Chair. He completed postgraduate work at SUNY Stony Brook where he received School Building and School District Leadership certifications. As a former coordinator of a social-emotional learning program for at-risk students, Mr. Klauber is dedicated to supporting the social, emotional, and mental health needs of the school community. We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Klauber to the Cairo-Durham team and we are looking forward to the experience he brings to this role.

As always, the success and well-being of our students and staff will remain top priorities during this transition in building leadership. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact my office (518-622-8534 ext. 25010), Principal Moore (518-622-8543 or jmoore@cairodurham.org), or Principal Czech (518-622-0490 or dczech@cairodurham.org).

Sincerely,

Michael Wetherbee
Superintendent
