Cairo-Durham News

Dear CDMS Families,

This letter is to inform you of an upcoming change in the Cairo-Durham Middle School main office.

At the June 9th Board of Education meeting, Principal Dotan Schips was appointed to a position in central administration as the new Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. He will be replacing Dr. Michelle Reed, who accepted a superintendent position at Seneca Falls CSD. Dr. Schips will remain available to assist and support CDMS families and staff through the end of June before beginning his new role on July 1, 2022.

Effective July 1st, the new middle school principal will be Mrs. Danielle Czech, who many of you are familiar with as the assistant principal at Cairo-Durham Elementary School. She was appointed to the middle school principal position at the Board meeting on June 9th. Previously, Mrs. Czech was a special education teacher at CDMS before transitioning to a leadership role at the elementary school. We are looking forward to having Mrs. Czech return to the middle school as an administrator effective July 1st.

The success and well-being of your child will remain top priorities during this transition. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact my office at 518-622-8534.

Sincerely,

Michael Wetherbee
Superintendent
