Cairo-Durham News

Current eighth grade students who are interested in project-based learning and emerging technologies are invited to apply to the Tech Valley High School program for the 2022-23 school year. Cairo-Durham students are eligible to attend Tech Valley High School (TVHS) at no cost to families. Learn more about TVHS and the application process below.

Information Sessions & Applications

Students and parents/guardians are encouraged to attend an information session to learn more about TVHS. These events give interested students and their families a chance to learn about the school’s technology-based, science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum and look at the challenges and rewards a TVHS education can offer.

There are several virtual and in-person sessions scheduled over the next few months, with the next virtual meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022. Get the full schedule and Zoom links here.

Once you have attended an information session, please contact Ms. Lacitignola to set up an appointment with Ms. Westfall, School Counselor, at 518-622-0490 (ext. 46010) or e-mail either kwestfall@cairodurham.org or dlacitignola@cairodurham.org. Appointments can be scheduled in person or virtually, if interested.

To apply for TVHS, students must:

  • Currently be enrolled in school and on track to meet all requirements for successful completion of their 8th grade school year
  • Meet with Ms. Westfall and a parent/guardian to discuss the application process (see contact information above)
  • Attend a parent-student virtual or in-person information session before filling out the application (dates listed below)
  • Complete the application form and submit it to Ms. Westfall in the Student Services Center by Wednesday March 2, 2022
