
Congratulations to Mikayla Khadijah on her performance at the New York State track and field qualifying meet in Cicero-North Syracuse last week! Mikayla ran a personal best in the 100-meter hurdles to place third in the pentathlon for Division 2 after day one of qualifiers. She went on to compete in the high jump, shot put, long jump, and 800-meter run. Overall, Mikayla placed 9th after competing in five events over two days.

Cairo Durham high school senior, Mikayla Khadijah, last week became sectional champion for the pentathlon and will compete at the NYS track and field state meet in Cicero, NY on June 9-10. Congrats to Mikayla and to her coaches Barb Coryell and Connie Berube!

Five individuals were inducted into the Mustang Pride Hall of Fame on May 7th in recognition of their contributions and service to the Cairo-Durham Central School District. Congratulations and thank you to Rudolph Keith Phillips, William “Buz” Getzke, Richard Uzzilia, Harry Lennon, and Hugh “Lucky” Gallagher! Thank you also to all the family and friends who joined the celebration and shared photos and stories about these fantastic individuals. Each inductee has made a lasting impact on the students and families of Cairo-Durham CSD and our community. Their Hall of Fame plaques will be displayed in the lobby at Cairo-Durham Middle/High School.

The Academic Awards Program originally scheduled for tomorrow night 5/18 has been rescheduled for next Wednesday 5/25 at 6:30pm in the HS Auditorium. Everyone has worked hard this year and we'd like to honor those efforts TOGETHER as a school family.

Some culinary magic happening in Ms. Scheitingers Food and Nutrition class. The assignment was to create something delicious out of tofu. Mission impossible? I think not.
