
The Cairo-Durham Central School District, in partnership with Questar III BOCES Health & Safety, held a reunification drill on Friday, November 1. Faculty and staff participated in the drill, acting as students, parents, teachers, and reunification team members. The drill aimed to familiarize staff with the procedures for reuniting students with their families in case of an unexpected emergency.

HS students in Mrs. Manoli's Physics class recently studied and measured the force of friction.




The Varsity Football Team ended their season on a positive note by defeating Coxsackie-Athens on Friday night with a score of 34-6. The Seniors were celebrated during halftime and then they went on to the decisive win.

The last Varsity Football game of the year is tonight at Catskill High School. The Mustangs will take on Greene County rival Coxsackie-Athens with kick off at 6:30 PM.

Nominees must have contributed to the improvement of Cairo-Durham CSD with extensive service through: academics, athletics, coaching, teaching, administration, employment, volunteerism and/or community service.
Nominees can be past or present staff members, school administrators, Board of Education members, alumni and community members or organizations. (Please note that a former student nominee must be out of school for at least 10 years to be considered for induction into the Mustang Pride Hall of Fame.)
Some examples of extensive service/support include (but are not limited to):
Academics (e.g., teaching, tutoring).
Involvement in school athletics (e.g., coaches, officials, volunteers).
Mentoring.
Volunteer work/community service.
Community relations.

Halloween is this Thursday, October 31! As a reminder, students who wear Halloween costumes must follow the District’s dress code. Halloween dress code expectations are:
*No hoods, masks, blindfolds, or concealing face paints are allowed.
*No representations of weapons or toy weapons are allowed.

The Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer Teams both lost their sectional games this afternoon putting an end to their seasons. We are proud of both teams and all of their accomplishments this Fall.

Good Luck to the Girls Varsity Soccer Team who are taking on Voorheesville at 12:30 today at Voorheesville High School.

In the opening round of sectionals last night the Girls Varsity Soccer Team defeated Fonda-Fultonville by a score of 2-0. Scoring goals for the Mustangs were Amanda Ramos-Rivera and Abby Wright. The next game is this Saturday, 10/26, at Voorheesville at 12:30.

Students can apply to up to five SUNY universities with no application fees. Free applications end on Sunday, November 3.

Cairo- Durham high schooler Jarrod DeGeyter, 12th Grade, is in the Questar III Culinary Arts program at Donald R. Kline Technical School, and he was recently cooking pizza at CDHS!



The NYS Education Department has informed the District that a new phone scam is targeting parents and guardians of students who recently took the SAT or PSAT exam.
The scam call will request that parents and guardians give sensitive information, including a credit card number, in order to get the rest results. Please remember that you should not share personal or financial information over the phone with unsolicited callers. Legitimate SAT or preparatory organizations will never ask you for personal details over the phone. If you receive such a call, hang up immediately.
Additional information on protecting yourself from these scams is available below:
Always be wary of unsolicited callers: If you receive a random call from someone asking for payment, research their organization before sharing any personal information.
Double check with your child: If someone claims they're calling because of a service your child requested, hang up and check with your child first.
Understand the College Board's practices: The College Board will never ask you for your bank or credit card information over the phone or through email.
Don't give your financial information to strangers: Never agree to pay a stranger with any form of payment for a purchase you didn't initiate.

The CD Boys Varsity's soccer team hosted Coxsackie Athens in the first round of class B sectionals. Its was very physical and fast paced game. CA Dominated the possession in first half but #3 Zander Santarelli was able to find the back of the net. Assisted by #9 Andrew Searing-Bruke. CA struck back with a goal not long after to tie it up 1-1. Going in to the second half the mustangs were able to find some momentum.about half way through the 2nd half #14 Chase Kelly scored to take lead 2-1. #7 Oliver Schull assisted. The mustangs locked up on defense the rest of the game and were able to get the win. Both teams left it all out on the field. #10 Joe Perino played terrific game for CA.
Final score 2-1. GO MUSTANGS!
