Resources for Online Learning Opportunities & Remote Instruction

This page will be updated as new resources are received. Last updated on March 27, 2020

During the extended closure, students and teachers are encouraged to collaborate on remote instruction and online learning opportunities. The goal is to provide learning opportunities that reinforce previously covered materials to prevent regression (not to impart new or difficult content). Printed resources and assignments will also be developed and mailed directly to student homes.

If possible, we encourage students and parents to check email frequently to maintain the school/family relationship during this time of extended closure.

Below is a list of resources to support students with online learning opportunities and remote instruction (organized by grade level/building as well as content area). Each teacher and grade level will be different, however we compiled this general webpage to outline the various digital learning resources, technology and WiFi information at our disposal. If you need to contact your child’s teacher directly, see the Staff Directory.

If you need technical assistance, please contact help@cairodurham.org. Tech support will be available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Monday-Friday). They will respond as soon as they are able.

Kindergarten-Grade 5

Teachers will create lesson packets and select texts to mail directly to student homes. The packets will be mailed home and be 5-6 pages front to back. If teachers plan to use workbooks, those materials were sent home with students on Monday, 3/16.

Elementary students can access IXL and I-Ready ELA and Math lessons in these home activity packets here. They are available for Kindergarten through Grade 8.

Download this packet for activities related to social-emotional development. A paper copy is available in the CDE main office.
