Kingston Czajkowski (Grade 5) and Emma Kargoe (Grade 7) came in first and second place, respectively, in Cairo-Durham’s annual district spelling bee, held on January 7, 2019. Students in Grades 4-8 compete in the event.

This is the third year in a row that Kingston won the district spelling bee, and the second year he will represent the district at the Regional Spelling Bee (he competed and won at the district level when he was in third grade, however students must be in at least fourth grade to be eligible for the regional competition).

Kingston will demonstrate his phenomenal spelling skills again when he competes in the Regional Spelling Bee at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.
