Senior Wins Regional Art Award

April 3, 2020

Senior Dante DiGiovanni’s photograph, “Forge,” was selected for an award at this year’s High School Regional Juried Art Show. More than 500 entries were submitted from 22 school districts, and Dante’s piece was one of 108 works selected for the competition.

You can check out the online gallery during a Virtual Opening & Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m., during which award winners will be announced. See Zoom details below.

In addition to Dante's award announcement, his other two photographs and an image by photography student Kalynn Lapp will be presented as part of the virtual opening.

Dante’s image titled “Forge” was taken for his AP Photography portfolio. He used a personal drone to capture the perspective.

“For Dante's work to stand out at this award-winning level in a competition against so many other districts, most much larger than Cairo-Durham, is a major accomplishment,” said Lily McCabe, Dante’s Photography teacher. “I’m so proud.”
