Positive Cases (3/29)

March 29, 2021

Dear Cairo-Durham Families,

The District was informed of three positive cases of COVID-19 in the school community:

  • A high school student who was last in school on March 17th. Based on the last date of attendance and the date of the positive test result, no school contact tracing is required.
  • Two elementary school students, both of which were last in school on March 26th (please note these cases are unrelated to last week’s positive case at CDE). After consulting with the Greene County Department of Health to conduct contact tracing, all individuals who were identified as contacts were notified and directed to quarantine.

Please be assured that our school buildings continue to be safe for in-person learning.

Please help stop the spread of COVID-19 in the community by diligently following all the recommended health and safety protocols. This includes wearing masks or face coverings, practicing social distancing, avoiding gatherings, washing your hands, and staying home if you/your child are unwell or awaiting test results. We should continue following these practices even after being fully vaccinated. If you have questions or need to report a COVID-19 related health issue, please contact your child’s principal or school nurse.

Thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation to help keep our buildings open for in-person learning and keep us all safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Michael Wetherbee
Superintendent of Schools
