Positive Case Update (11/16)

November 16, 2020

Dear Cairo-Durham Families,

I regret to inform you that the Greene County Department of Health provided misinformation over the weekend regarding the positive COVID-19 case at CDHS. The positive test occurred a few days prior to the District being notified, which means the contact tracing list must extend further back in time than initially determined by the DOH. As such, there may be additional staff and/or students required to quarantine.

We are assisting the DOH with contact tracing efforts and identifying contacts who will need to be quarantined. Please see this clarification on contact tracing for details about how contact tracing works. We encourage you to offer your full cooperation if you are contacted by a representative of the county health department or our school district. If you are not contacted by a representative there is no further action needed on your part.

Please be assured that we are continuing to enforce all health and safety protocols within our school buildings, including heightened cleaning measures.

At this time, in-person instruction will continue as scheduled. Updates will be communicated with you when new information is received. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child's principal.

Sincerely,

Michael Wetherbee
Superintendent of Schools
