Positive Case at CDMS/HS (12/5)

December 5, 2020

Dear Cairo-Durham Families,

The District was informed yesterday that a substitute at Cairo-Durham Middle/High School tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was last present in school on Monday, November 23rd. We have been in communication with the Greene County Department of Health to conduct contact tracing and notify any students or staff who need to quarantine as a precaution. We encourage you to offer your full cooperation if you are contacted by a representative of the county health department or our school district. If you are not contacted by a representative there is no further action needed on your part.

Based on the length of time that has passed since the last date of attendance, the DOH has advised that operations at the MS/HS can continue as usual. There will be in-person classes on Monday, December 7th, as planned. Cairo-Durham Elementary School operations will also continue as usual.

While I understand that you would like additional details, we are not permitted by privacy laws to share any personally identifiable information. Anyone with questions and/or who needs to report a COVID-19 related health issue should contact their child’s principal.

Sincerely,

Michael Wetherbee
Superintendent of Schools
