Positive Case at CDMS/HS (12/2)

December 2, 2020

Dear Cairo-Durham Families,

Yesterday afternoon the District was notified of a staff member at Cairo-Durham Middle/High School who tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was in school on Monday, November 30th. Please be assured that our custodial team is continuing their heightened cleaning procedures on a daily basis.

The District has been in communication with the Greene County Department of Health to conduct thorough contact tracing. Fortunately, only a small number of students and staff are required to quarantine and they were notified directly. If you were not contacted by a representative of the District or Department of Health, there is no further action needed on your part.

At this time, there is no need to extend the duration of remote learning at the MS/HS. In-person instruction is still scheduled to resume next Monday, December 7th. Operations at Cairo-Durham Elementary School will continue as usual.

In these challenging times, please rest assured that the District’s priority is protecting the health, welfare and safety of our students and staff while complying with federal, state and local orders and guidance. Anyone with questions and/or who needs to report a COVID-19 related health issue should contact their child’s principal. Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we navigate new territory together this year.
