Earlier this week, the NYS Education Department released graduation rates for the 2014 cohort, or students who first entered 9th grade in 2014.
We are thrilled to share that Cairo-Durham’s graduation rate was 89% in 2018! This figure is an 8% improvement from 2017, and well above the New York State average of 80 percent.
This also puts Cairo-Durham’s grad rate in the top 1/3 of all districts within our BOCES region (which includes 22 schools). We are extremely proud of this achievement by our students and staff.
“Reaching a graduation rate of 89% represents a significant achievement for our district,” said Superintendent Taibi. “It is important to pause and recognize the gains that have been made, which are based upon the combined efforts of all staff district-wide.”
Furthermore, Cairo-Durham’s 2018 graduation rate is on par with several larger suburban districts in the Capital Region, including South Colonie (89%), Saratoga (90%) and Shenendehowa (91%).
With the bar set high, the District will continue to set and reach new goals focused on continuous improvement and the success of all our students.
