Did you know that October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month?
Our K-12 Library Media Specialist, Mrs. Pine, has been participating in cybersecurity awareness activities this past year, including delivering lessons about password strength and two-factor authentication to students in the Computer Essentials class at CDHS.
Mrs. Pine also presented on the above topics at the New York Library Association’s annual state conference following her participation in a highly selective cybersecurity “teacher camp” at Excelsior College (pictured below, Mrs. Pine is in the middle row third from the left).
In addition to cybersecurity trainings and discussions, Mrs. Pine gained insight to help high school students understand the numerous career opportunities in this growing field.
You can learn more about these topics and protecting yourself online via the National Cyber Security Alliance.
