Students from the CDMS 6th grade class hosted a Veterans Day Assembly on Thursday, November 12, 2015, to honor area veterans and service men and women. Attendees gathered in the High School Auditorium which was decorated for the occasion with artwork from CDES and CDMS students. Tracy McGee attended on behalf of Assemblyman Pete Lopez and presented our school with a United States Flag which has flown over our state capitol. Students read poems and stories they had written expressing their thoughts and ideas of what it is to be a Veteran.
The New York State Education Department wants your feedback on the State’s English Language Arts (ELA)/Literacy and Math Common Core Learning Standards and has launched an on-line survey where you can let your voice be heard! Everyone with an interest in the future of our schools is invited and encouraged to participate in the review.
On Monday, Nov. 2nd Cairo-Durham Middle School 7th and 8th grade Spanish Class students celebrated the Mexican holiday “Day of the Dead” with face painting and other classroom activities geared toward this Mexican festivity during which family and friends pray for and honor deceased family and friends, supporting their spiritual journey.

Please join us in the Middle School Cafeteria to learn about how our teachers are working with students using the new iReady program as well as some information about our school's Title I services.
