After consulting with local Departments of Health, superintendents in the Questar III BOCES region of Rensselaer, Columbia, and Greene counties decided to cancel all classes effective Wednesday, March 18 until Friday, March 27 out of an abundance of caution. Student attendance at Cairo-Durham will cease beginning Tuesday, March 17 while teachers participate in a professional development day. Read more details here.
Superintendent Wetherbee issued the following update on the District's plan regarding the ongoing public health crisis:
At its meeting on March 12, 2020, the Cairo-Durham Board of Education adopted a resolution to present a proposition to voters regarding the former Durham Elementary School building. Click here for a summary of the proposition, which will be put before district voters on June 9.
Following guidance from state health and education officials, several school events and activities have been canceled or postponed and will be rescheduled if possible.
The meetings for the Board of Education Audit Committee and Policy Committee originally scheduled for Thursday, March 12 have been canceled. The regular Board meeting will take place as planned at 7 p.m.
The CDHS semi-formal dance is on Friday, March 13. It is a black and white affair!
