Voting results are in. This was the highest voter turnout in recent history and we want to thank everyone who took the time to vote. We hope to see this trend continue in future votes.
Cairo-Durham voters approved the $32,512,539 budget for the 2020-21 school year with 1,067 in favor and 805 opposed.
Voters approved the bus purchase proposition with 1,061 in favor and 805 opposed.
The Cairo Public Library appropriation was approved with 1,215 in favor and 656 opposed.
The Durham donation proposition was also approved with 1,365 in favor and 486 opposed. The support for this new opportunity is appreciated and we are pleased to be able to play a role in the expansion of educational programming in Greene County. We will begin working with Questar III BOCES and District attorneys to draw up the necessary legal paperwork to transfer the building. In the Board of Education election, incumbents Stephen Brandow and Bernadette Gavin-Palmieri were re-elected to three-year terms with 1,219 votes and 1,062 votes respectively. Claudia Zucker received 947 votes and will replace David Infantino on the Board.
