Dear Cairo-Durham Families,
I am writing to inform you of an upcoming transition in the leadership at Cairo-Durham High School. Principal Nick Fitzgerald recently announced that he will be leaving the district after accepting a position as Superintendent at Canajoharie CSD. Mr. Fitzgerald has long desired to become a superintendent and this is an exciting opportunity for him and his family.
We are thankful for Mr. Fitzgerald’s leadership and the many things he has helped us accomplish at Cairo-Durham High School over the last four years. We are sad to see him go, however we look forward to welcoming a new principal who will continue to expand opportunities for our students. We wish him the best of luck in his new position.
Mr. Fitzgerald will be here for the remainder of the school year and will assist in the candidate selection process, which will begin shortly. We hope to begin interviewing candidates soon and have staff, students and parents be involved in the interview process. We are eager to find someone who shares our values and commitment to providing your child with the best education possible. If you are interested in participating on the interview committee, please contact Gina Pambianchi in our Human Resources Office at 518-622-8534.
Your child’s success and well-being will remain top priorities during this transition. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the District Office at 518-622-8534 or the CDHS main office at 518-622-8543.
Anthony J. Taibi
