Positive Cases at CDE & CDHS (2/3)

February 3, 2021

Dear Cairo-Durham Families,

The District was notified of an elementary student who tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last present in school on January 15th. Based on the last date in school and the date of the positive test result, no school contact tracing was required (as advised by the DOH). A remote high school student also tested positive but no school contact tracing was necessary.

Please continue to be vigilant about the health and safety protocols to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in the community. This includes wearing masks or face coverings, practicing social distancing, avoiding gatherings, washing your hands, and staying home if you/your child are unwell or awaiting test results.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and diligence to help keep us all safe and healthy. If you have questions or need assistance, or if you need to report a COVID-19 related health issue, please contact the schools or email your child’s principal.

Sincerely,

Michael Wetherbee
Superintendent of Schools
