On Monday, November 18, 2019, the Cairo-Durham Special Education Department (SPED) is hosting a family information night. Parents of students in all grades, Pre-K through 12, are invited to attend.

DATE: Monday, November 18, 2019
TIME: 6-7 p.m.
PLACE: Cairo-Durham Elementary School large cafeteria

Topic: For this event, we welcome CARD (The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities) to present "Tantrums, Tears and Timeouts: Helping Your Child with ASD Overcome Challenging Behavior." Although this training mentions autism, it is open to families of students with any disabilities.

Description: The focus of this training is on learning how to define your child’s challenging behavior in observable terms and learning ways to track that behavior. You will also learn about user-friendly tools that help determine the function of behavior along with strategies based on that function. Emphasis will be placed on evidence-based strategies that can be implemented in the home environment.

Please RSVP to this event by filling out this online form or download this flyer and return the completed form at the bottom to your child's teacher.
