On Saturday afternoon, we learned of a potentially threatening comment made by a middle school student in school last Friday. In response, we immediately contacted law enforcement to investigate the situation. After a thorough investigation and speaking with multiple students, police determined that the statement was not a credible threat and our school community was not in any danger.
The safety of our students and staff is of primary concern. Threats against schools, even if they are deemed not credible, are taken very seriously. We appreciate the people who reported this situation so that we could quickly address it in the safest manner possible. Please reinforce with your children the importance of reporting any suspicious activity to an adult as soon as possible.
Our school resource officers, staff and administrators will continue to work together on ensuring the safety of our school community. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the middle school office at 518-622-0490 or District Office at 518-622-8534.
Mr. Michael Whetherbee, Superintendent of Schools
Ms. Shannon Krum, Interim Middle School Principal
