Schools Closed & Facilities Use Suspended for Remainder of Academic Year
(UPDATE June 3, 2020) The official last day of school and online instruction will be Thursday, June 18, 2020. The last day for staff will be June 19. Please note that neighboring districts may have different end dates due to a difference in contractual obligations and the number of emergency days available. Principals will contact families about the process for returning school property (e.g., textbooks and equipment), picking up any belongings left at school, and fourth quarter report cards. If you have any questions, please contact your child's principal.
Governor Cuomo announced on May 1 that all K-12 schools in New York State are to remain closed and continue providing distance learning for the remainder of the academic year. We will continue to support students, teachers and families with at-home learning needs.
Superintendent Wetherbee issued this update on April 7 regarding recent changes to the governor's mandate, New York State Regents exams, and the annual budget vote and school board election. Please read this letter from Superintendent Wetherbee about how a directive from the New York State Education Department impacts the scheduled spring break.
During this time, the District Office is operating with a limited staff and a small number of essential staff from the Food Services and Maintenance Departments will be allowed on-site. You will still be able to pick up student meals as described here, however you will not be allowed to enter the school buildings.
We will continue to provide updates and details as they become available.
