Community Conversation Forum to be held Feb. 25th

Attention All Cairo-Durham Community Members:

During last year’s budget development process, the district held a very successful, well-attended Community Conversations Forum. Community members were informed of the proposed budget, the changes that were needed and the opportunity to provide their individual input regarding these changes.

This year, the district will host a District Programming Needs Community Conversation Forum at the Cairo-Durham Middle/High School media center on Thursday, February 25, at 7:00 p.m. The evening will once again provide our community members and stakeholders with the opportunity to review the proposed 2016-2017 budget, learn of the various efficiency measures to be implemented next school year, the projected cost savings and their impact as we move forward with development of the 2016-2017 budget.

The majority of the evening however will be dedicated to discussing the district’s programming needs and how they best fit with our current Strategic Plan goals. Information regarding each school’s programming initiatives identified last year and their current impact will be provided. We will also take a look at the current and future programming needs of the district. This will include a breakout session to brainstorm about available programming, the needs of our schools needs and how they will support the district’s goals.

I strongly encourage you to attend and be a part of this planning process. I look forward to seeing you on February 25, 2016.
