The New York State Education Department wants your feedback on the State’s English Language Arts (ELA)/Literacy and Math Common Core Learning Standards and has launched an on-line survey where you can let your voice be heard! Everyone with an interest in the future of our schools is invited and encouraged to participate in the review.
On Monday, Nov. 2nd Cairo-Durham Middle School 7th and 8th grade Spanish Class students celebrated the Mexican holiday “Day of the Dead” with face painting and other classroom activities geared toward this Mexican festivity during which family and friends pray for and honor deceased family and friends, supporting their spiritual journey.

This aftenoon, I spoke with the New York State Police Investigator regarding their investigation of the indirect threats made on social media. At this point they have concluded their investigation and determined as stated earlier that there was no specific threat made against Cairo-Durham Schools, or to any other schools.

Last evening, Cairo-Durham CSD officials and law enforcement authorities responded to an online allegation that there would be violence at the middle school/high school on Friday.
Within learning of this posting the district immediately contacted the state police, who launched an investigation into the statement.
