Superintendent’s Secretary

District Clerk

Full-time Superintendent’s Secretary with excellent secretarial and computer skills needed.

Must be organized and have good telephone and written communication skills.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.  Executive secretary experience preferred

District clerk position is part-time and is a stipend based position.  


Superintendent’s Secretary Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Posting Vacancies online & in buildings
- Placing Legal Notices
- Coordination and Processing of paperwork for hiring

- Upkeep of probationary and certification list.

- Submission of mandated state reports
- Prepare School District Calendars
- Maintain scheduling and event calendars and appointments.
- Updating and maintenance of administrator/teacher personnel files.

District Clerk Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Prepare Agendas for Board of Education meetings
- Attend Board meetings; Prepare minutes of meetings
- Prepare Board Packets for Board Members and post on-line on secure sight
- Coordinate posting of notices for meetings, website notice
- Coordinate Board member attendance at conferences, school boards dinners, retreats, etc.
- Update of Policy Manual.

- Perform all duties connected to the Annual Budget Vote and Election of Board members

School Bus Driver

Anticipated Start Date: November 13, 2020

Position Status:  Full-time

Reports to: Herb Schwanse Jr., Transportation Supervisor

The Cairo Durham Central School District is now accepting applications for the opening of one (1) full-time School Bus Driver.  This is a 10 month a year position.

Essential Duties:

  • School bus drivers pick up students at stops along established routes and drop them off at school.
  • They may also transport students and faculty to special events, such as field trips or sporting events.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • All applicants must be 21 years of age and posses clean NYS CDL “B” license with both a Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) Endorsement.
  • Cleared fingerprints required.
· High School diploma or equivalent required.
· References will be checked upon application.
