Congratulations to Caroline Thompson, chosen as the Cairo-Durham High School Student of the Month for November 2019! Caroline is pictured here with her Business/Accounting teacher, Mrs. Maassmann. Through her studies at Cairo-Durham and working closely with Mrs. Maassmann Caroline has been able to pursue one of her dreams. She has been working as a secretary at Pattison, Koskey, Howe, & Bucci (PKHB), a long-standing and well-respected accounting firm for the Hudson Valley and the NY Capital Region. Through this placement, Caroline has been offered the opportunity of real-life experience in a field of great interest to her. In addition, she will be able to delve into, and work in this field of her choice as she continues her education for accounting next fall. What a wonderful opportunity for both the firm and for Caroline! Here at Cairo-Durham, Caroline has won the hearts of both teachers and students alike. Her unbelievably kind and considerate demeanor, together with the level of responsibility and consistency that she exhibits have been assets to all in our district. She works diligently as a member of several honors, college-level, and Advanced Placement courses; has earned numerous exemplary performance awards including one for accounting, and continuously expresses a desire to aid/support others in any way that she can. Caroline is a quiet soul and her interests include reading, writing, fishing, and hunting. She is clearly someone worthy of attention and recognition and we are very pleased to be able to honor her with this award. She is a gem! Congratulations Caroline!
