Congratulations to Erin Dunn, chosen as the Cairo-Durham High School Student of the Month for February 2019! Erin chose her teacher, Ms. Sue O’Brien, to represent her in this picture. Erin and Ms. O’Brien have a special bond as well as mutual admiration/respect for each other. Erin is a senior at Cairo-Durham. She truly enjoys learning and has worked diligently and responsibly throughout her high school career, earning the privilege of being on the high honor roll each quarter! Teachers, students, and staff alike express their appreciation of Erin as she shares her positive, friendly, and respectful personality; she is clearly a role model to all. During these long winter months, Erin continuously brings sunshine to our hallways! As a member of Cairo-Durham’s Sources of Strength program, Erin advocates for others and strives to promote attitudes of hope, positivity, and resilience. She additionally demonstrates this positive spirit as she works within the school, helping out in various ways to support our sporting events and to keep our district looking pristine. In addition, outside of school, Erin regularly provides care for her grandfather. This background, together with Erin’s caring and kind characteristics, will support and surely bring to fruition her goal of becoming a nursing assistant for the elderly. Erin has a love for crossword puzzles and writing stories as well. Perhaps she can use this interest in the future as she spends time with those in need of companionship. We are honored to have such a bright and optimistic student in our district and are pleased to offer her this token of our appreciation.
