Madeline Sharkey is ranked among the top ten for the Cairo-Durham High School graduating class of 2018. During her four years of high school, she participated in Soccer, Track and Field, indoor Track, Golf and Ice Hockey. Madeline was a member of Model UN, National Honor Society, Student Council, Drama Club and the Music Department. Madeline was also a member of the stage crew for seven productions of the school musical. In school, she was involved in the Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Handbell Choir, Chorus and Women’s Choir. She also participated in community performing groups including the Hudson River Bells and The Coxsackie-Athens Community Band. Madeline performed in various All-County events for Chorus, Senior Band and Jazz Band. In her junior and senior years, she performed in the Zone 8 Area All-State Concert Band playing Alto Saxophone. Madeline can play saxophone, guitar, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, baritone and the melodica. During the summers, Madeline works with children as a camp counselor at Camp Chingachgook in Lake George. In the fall, Madeline will be attending The College of Saint Rose for Music Education.
